Our client has enlisted our services to resource an experienced Corrosion Technician to join their engineering team.
The Role:
The role involves installation, testing, & evaluation of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems, corrosion on various structures and, liaising with clients to assess & achieve objectives related to customer projects, needs and specifications.
Specific duties
Installation of CP systems, reference electrodes, junction boxes, cables and rectifiers.
Attaching cables to structure.
Performing CP potential surveys
Knowledge of data logging software, hardware & test techniques.
Installation, configuration, and removal of rectifier interrupters.
Testing, troubleshooting and repair of CP rectifiers.
Performing close interval, DCVG, and ACVG surveys.
Operating electronic pipe locators,
Monitoring subcontractor performance, resolving installation issues and conflicts.
Adherence to safety requirements.
Identification and recommendation of corrective actions based on survey results.
Management of client expectations within scope of work.
Ability to work independently or in a team
Data analysis & report writing capabilities
Critical responsibilities:
Knowledge of CP systems operation and installation
Good decision making capabilities
Attendance and communication
Physical Requirements:
As this position involves field activities, the successful candidate must be physically capable of performing manual tasks without restriction, climbing, lifting and/or pulling up to 25kg.
Qualifications:
Successfully completion of VCE or equivalent
Preferred: ACA/NACE CP Certification
Additional Requirements:
Effective oral and written communication skills,
Computer literacy and working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Overnight stays in rural/remote areas.
